Job requirements

The position

As a Risk Capture Analyst, you will be part of a world-class international team from a wide variety of backgrounds. The key mission of the Risk Capture Design team is to design and coordinate the build for new data captures and coordinate updates to our existing ones. You can expect to be working in a fast paced and highly varied environment amongst friendly and supportive colleagues.

The annual salary for this position is $55,000.00 and increases to $57,000.00 after the training period.

What do the first four months on the job look like?

You will receive structured targets, regular feedback and an annual performance review. You will start by working through our guided program to develop a new risk capture for our Canadian market, moving into coordinating updates for our existing risk captures over time.

As a Risk Capture Business Analyst you can expect to be responsible for:

  • Working in a team focused on insurance product implementations

  • Working with our Canadian clients to understand their needs for new data captures

  • Researching and designing new data captures for the Canadian market and turning these into accurate detailed technical specifications

  • Managing the implementation of these data captures across multiple delivery teams and ensuring these are created to specification,

  • Working with brokers to give them early visibility of these changes and making adaptations following this

You will be given early responsibility for discrete projects and will receive structured feedback 3 times a year.

Training

Acturis believes that a mix of internal and external training allows colleagues to develop rounded skills:

  • New joiners receive concentrated initial training and close mentoring

  • Colleagues are encouraged to complete industry standard training in relevant topics

  • More senior colleagues can choose courses with time set aside and the course paid for

  • The Acturis management team run training sessions to pass on experience and best practice

Candidate Profile

The successful candidates will have following attributes:

  • Degree in Math, Physics, Engineering or other technical discipline

  • An aptitude for applying technology and structured problem solving

  • A track record of delivering on projects and an ability to carry tasks through to completion

  • An ability to work in teams and learn quickly

  • Demonstrated an interest in and experience of using IT and software

  • Some roles are more client focused where an ability to build relationships with customers and strong communication skills are essential

  • Confident and eager to take responsibility

The following attributes are highly appreciated but not required:

  • Science, Math, and Engineering background

  • Fluent or Proficient in French
