THE POSITION

As a Business Support Assistant at Acturis, you will have the following responsibilities:

 

  • Provide professional and welcoming meet-and-greet service

  • Be the first point of contact at the reception and receive telephone inquiries alongside the London office team, providing information and directing calls as necessary

  • Handle the bookings of lunches, hotels, taxis and couriers

  • Prepare and post company correspondence and documents

  • Respond to Birmingham office colleague’s requests

  • Maintain regular contact and professional relationship with building management

  • Efficiently respond to resolve any issues relating to facilities, supplies and office equipment

  • Accurately monitor and record monthly meter readings

  • Monitor office supplies and equip the office with stationery and catering

  • Oversee the cleaning team and report any problems that can affect health and safety of the staff

  • Complete annual clean desk audits

  • Support recruitment activities with recruitment agencies, such as booking interviews and feeding back to recruiters and completing office tours for candidates

  • Work with the People Operations team to facilitate a smooth onboarding process

  • Support colleagues in or manage any other ad hoc office tasks or operational activities

  • Organize social events for the Birmingham office

  • Track and maintain budgets for selected social initiatives

  • Identify improvements in current working processes to improve the teams efficiently

Job requirements

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidates for the role of Business Support Assistant at Acturis will have the following attributes:

  • Graduated with a 2:2 or above and strong A levels

  • Strong problem solving skills - the candidate should be a fast learner and eager to expand and deepen his or her knowledge and capabilities

  • Demonstrated self-management skills and ability to deliver to tight deadlines

  • Confident, proactive and eager to take on responsibility

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Competent with Word, Excel and Outlook

  • A positive can-do attitude
