Graduate Software Developer - Birmingham

Job description

Acturis have developer roles across a number of areas of the business, with a team of Integration Developers working in our Birmingham office.

As an Graduate Integration Developer you will be:

  • Working with Business Analysts to implement changes and new features
  • Working with other Developers in your team to deliver high quality code and support for the Business Analysts and Quality Analysts
  • Supported by Senior Developers
  • Participating in peer code review
  • Supporting and developing a platform which Business Analysts configure to connect and control business processes
  • Integrating different systems hosted by Acturis and various third parties
  • Working with technologies including:
    • C# and the .NET Framework
    • XML
    • SQL and PL/SQL 
    • Java
    • webMethods Flow
    • XSLT 
    • Python


The successful candidates will have following attributes:

  • At least a 2.1 in a technical subject – Computer Science, Maths, Physics, Engineering – and good A Levels
  • An aptitude for applying technology and structured problem solving
  • An ability to work in teams and learn quickly
  • Very good attention to detail
  • Solid knowledge of an object oriented development language
  • Demonstrated a real interest in development by working on their own programming projects or had relevant work experience
